Many children are motivated by the challenge provided through competing against others, both individually and as part of a team. To offer opportunities for these children we participate in a wide variety of competitions both sporting and academic. We are delighted to see how Broomfield punches well above its weight in many national competitions, and in 2020 had many children compete in ISA National competitions in Cross Country and Swimming.
Our Year 6 cohort in 2019 /2020 were thrilled to take first prize in the ISA Key Stage 2 National Art Competition for 3D Art, for their clay composition entitled ‘Picnic’.
A Year 5 team were victorious in the Hampton Maths Wizard competition in 2019, against tough challenge from 26 top prep schools in the area. Our children always perform well in the ESB speaking exams and individual successes are regularly achieved in the BBC’s 500 words competition. In 2020 we were delighted when Lola won the Richmond Young Writers Competition for her piece, ‘The Sea’.
