“Pupils are highly motivated and well prepared for the next stage of their lives, helped by the exceptionally high standard of pastoral care that they receive.”
Broomfield is absolutely delighted to share the report of the ISI Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection, conducted in September 2022. The full report is available below.
We are proud that the inspection team rated Broomfield as excellent across all areas, both in respect of pupils’ academic and other achievements and their personal development. We were confident in the quality of our education and pastoral care, but this external validation is a wonderful endorsement. Such a positive outcome is a tribute to our whole school community; pupils, staff and parents alike, who work together to reinforce our aims and ethos.
It was particularly encouraging that the inspectors commended the children’s behaviour, noting that they customarily show great courtesy and consideration for others; “Relationships are extremely positive, and a palpable culture of respect and tolerance pervades all aspects of school life.”
We are academically ambitious for our pupils and this has been recognised in the report’s findings.
“Pupils achieve well above the expected level for their age and ability by the time they leave school.”
“They achieve considerable success in entrance examinations to schools with high standards of entry including a good number of academic and other competitive scholarships.
Educating children for life involves so much more than high academic results and we place equal emphasis on helping them think for themselves, to be self-aware and to flourish when working with others. This was also commended in the report.
“Pupils have excellent levels of self-knowledge and strong resilience.”
“Pupils are skilled communicators, articulate and confident.”
Kindness is at the heart of Broomfield, being one of our four school values and so the inspectors’ conclusions around this aspect of school life resonate beautifully.
“From the earliest age, pupils actively support each other in a highly collaborative atmosphere, respecting and recognising individual differences and needs.”
“Pupils have a heart for humankind, with a mature capacity to think beyond their own immediate lives.”
We hope you will enjoy reading the full report which so eloquently captures what life is like at Broomfield, a place which helps “pupils to develop into highly considerate and sympathetic people who demonstrate a great sense of loyalty to their school and who work together to fulfil common goals.”
In addition to the Education Quality outcomes, the Regulatory Compliance element of the inspection also found Broomfield to have fully met all the standards required.
