The Saatchi Gallery hosted Year 6 to explore some botanical paintings, drawings and photographs which had been submitted for an RHS competition. The curator explained how the artworks could be individual to the artist even if they were scientifically accurate. Afterwards the children invented their own plants and drew them, labelling their scientific features and demonstrating how art blends with science. They were very grateful to our brilliant art teacher, Mrs Frey, for arranging the visit.
